How much do flat iron hair straighteners cost?

how much is a cheap kind of hair straightener, and where can i get one?

(I have fairly thick long hair, if that matters...)

Thanks so much!!How much do flat iron hair straighteners cost?
If you have thick, long hair you shouldn't buy a cheap hair straightener. It's not going to starighten well, and it'll damage your hair. I suggest you save your money and wait to buy a good one like a CHI. Sally's is having a sale on them right now.How much do flat iron hair straighteners cost?
CHI straightner at costco is $80 :)
Depending on quality, and store, can range from 15.00 to 75.00 , But I advise u to consult with operator. This is very damaging to hair, breakage, split ends, frizzies, may lighten hair, very bad choice,LOL
drugstore

target

walmart

online

etc

from like 20 up

make sure it's ceramic though!!! =)
You just want a flat iron? The one I have now I bought from a salon for $75. Before this, I bought one at Wal-greens for $20 just so I could see if I liked it and get the hang of using it. I recommend you buy a soothing serum too to make your new straight hair a little shiny and a little less frizzy.

Incidentally, I don't notice a difference between the old %26amp; the new. I have thick long-ish hair and I prefer the thinner straightener even though it takes longer to do my hair. :)
My sisters was $59.99. She got hers at Target, But you can fing them at Hair salons and drugstores.

BE SURE IT IS CERAMIC
$$10000000000000000000000000000000000000鈥?DOLLARS!!!!
if you want one that works, it will at least be $100. don't waste your money on a cheap straightener..you will ruin your hair. just remember, you get what you pay for.
They have some at walmart starting off at like $15 I think. I use to have one. It didn't work too good so I bought a CHI which is more expensive but you get what you pay for lol

A salon quality flat Iron (hair straightener) for cheap?

Right now I own a Revlon hair straightener that I bought at the drug store for about 50$.

I have very thick, wavy, and frizzy hair and my current hair straighter just doesn't do it.

I used my friend's salon quality straighter the other day and my hair was pin straight and silky within 10 minutes, and it lasted like that for two days.

I want to invest in a good quality straightener, but I want to spend as little money as possibly (under 100$).

What type of straighter should I buy?

Any brand suggestions?A salon quality flat Iron (hair straightener) for cheap?
chi!

you might have to spend a little more than you want but its so worth it!

:)A salon quality flat Iron (hair straightener) for cheap?
See if anyone is selling their salon brand sraightener on eBAY!

Also, Marshalls and TJMaxx have good hair tools.

I've heard that CHI are great. =]
Personally I'd go with Maxi glide..

($80 ,http://www.folica.com/Maxiglide_Hair__d1鈥?/a>

or..

The Instyler..

($15 for 2 30-day trial w/ one free after trial,http://www.getinstyler.com/)

($100 for 1, search ebay)

I thoroughly check reviews and research anything before i recommend it, or try products. What i like about these two you can watch live testimonials which are tied in with their commericals. Poofy hair checks turning into sleek hair before your eyes.

(search ';Maxi glide'; and ';instyler'; youtube)
I would talk to your hair stylist too.

My hair stylist got me a chi for $65 dollars because it's in a design (the camo collection) that is limited edition and now being discontinued so they're trying to sell out the last of them.

Flat irons/hair straighteners..?

i have a Remington Wet 2 Straight, and its killing my hair.

and i have really curly, full hair, kinda like a long afro when i blow dry it.

i need a new one, any suggestions?Flat irons/hair straighteners..?
bleh.

no wet to straits the wet hair straitening fries the hair

uggh. i know

%26amp;%26amp; i know this is weird but i have to wash my hair the night before to straiten it because hair drying then straitening

=[

horrible damage to your hair so start leaving conditioner in for 5 minutes and wash hair the night before and let it naturally dry.

and never straiten wet.

hope this helps.

=dFlat irons/hair straighteners..?
Any flat iron is going to kill your hair. Try having it relaxed at a salon. It's still bad for your hair, but at least you won't have to fry your hair every day.
i have the same straightener and it is actually gentler on my hair than my CHI. You need a good heat product to put in it before you straighten it. It makes all the difference.

Flat iron/hair straightener?

i want to buy a flat iron/hair straightener that has a swivel cord because that prevents it from tangling when you try to curl your hair

i have a conair flat iron right now and i curl my hair with it, but my hair keeps getting tangle in it because the cord doesn't rotate..it sucks

what stores can i buy a flat iron/hair straightener w/ a swivel cord from?

or where?

no on-line stores.

thankx

[Sacramento California]Flat iron/hair straightener?
well someones already said chi but noone said where to buy them!

they don't sell them at sallys

they sell them at regis hair salon (it's in the mall) for like $124 (that's where i got mine)

and they sell them at target for 100 but all the ones there are tacky (like hot pink or cheetah print)

but whatever, noone cares what it looks like as long as it straightens your hair

The Best Are GHD's Which You Can Buy From Most Hairdressers. They Curl Really Well If You Know How To.

They Also Sell CHS But They Dont Curl Unless They Have A Round Barrel And They Arent As Good, Especially Not On Thick Hair.

Hope This Helps!!

  • Good flat irons/hair straighteners?

    I'm a dude...my hair isn't very long...just down to my eyes...but it looks better when it's straight.

My favorite trick is to get a big glob of hair gel, put it all over, comb it straight, let it dry, and then wait for an hour. I can comb my hair straight after that...but it's a nuisance.

Do you girls know of any good flat irons/hgair straighteners that won't damage my hair or cost a lot?Good flat irons/hair straighteners?
GHD Mini stylers are specifically aimed at people with short hair. They're ceramic, so they won't damage your hair. GHD's are the Rolls Royce of hairstylers. Trust me, they WORK!!! They're available at good salons, though prices vary from place to place. I bought mine for about $250 (this is just a rough conversion as I use a different currency to US$'s), but they can be found much much cheaper depending on which one you buy. Remember to always use a little heat protective spray or cream before straightening. Why do you assume only girls would know this, by the way!!Good flat irons/hair straighteners?
there is this stuff call its a 10 that you can buy at a beauty supply store that helps not damage your hair you spray it on before you straighten your hair.

the best flat iron to by is a chi one or the off brand of chi they are a lot of money but they're the best.
Go to a beauty supply store ';Sallys Beauty'; and pick one up for about $30. You're putting heat on your hair though...it's not exactly healthy. You can buy sprays, though, to put on there adding moisture and shine as the flat iron does it's job.
Remington Wet To Straight Hair Straighter Works Awesome
chi is good. you can get one off ebay pretty cheap
the ghd thin ones, not sure how much they cost though but they'l do the job prperly:)

Does anybody own the Solia Pink Limited Edition 1'; Flat Iron Hair Straightener?

I have two hair straighteners, both from my local CVS drugstore. One is Conair, and one is Revlon. My hair is in between thick and thin. I can never seem to get my hair to look somewhat straight with these hair straighteners. I told my mom, and we went on www.folica.com, to check out some hair straighteners. I came across the Solia Pink Limited Edition 1'; Flat Iron, and instantly fell in love. It was $85.00, and the shipping was FREE- standard UPS ground. My mom gave me her credit card, and let me buy it!

I read about 200 user reviews, and they all had 4 1/2-5 stars with absolutely wonderful comments. Can anybody give me their personal comments and 411 on this straightener and tell me if you think I'll like it?!

Thank you all so much and enjoy the last few hours of your weekend :)Does anybody own the Solia Pink Limited Edition 1'; Flat Iron Hair Straightener?
I love Folica ....their shipping is great and it is fast. And if you are not happy with the product you have 30 days to return it..... I have not used the Solia flat iron but I do have the new Sedu and I love it. It was rated number one in several magazines. I can tell the difference in the way my hair feels/looks if I use a cheap flat iron on it verses my Sedu. I am sure you will be happy with the Solia and remember you have thirty days to decide and if you are not you can send it back ~ Remember to get a good flat iron heat protector ( spray, cream etc.,) that is important in protecting your hair.

Enjoy ~~~Does anybody own the Solia Pink Limited Edition 1'; Flat Iron Hair Straightener?
As a stylist, I have used a lot of flat irons/hair straighteners, including Sedu, Hai, Infrashine, Chi, Paul Mitchell, Solia, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss Ghd, T3, Kenta etc. You should get a Professional hair straightener, they style much better and faster, and most importantly, they protect your hair.

    In terms of performance:

The best ones are: Sedu, Kenta, Solia, Infrashine, Ghd. These are top of the line professional brands

Above average: Chi, Hai, Paul Mitchell,

Average: T3, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss

Below Average: Conair, Vidal Sassoon, Revlon, Bed Head etc. These are cheap consumer brands that you will find in drugstore. If you care about your hair, do NOT buy them.

=== Tips for buying professional hair appliances ===

Do NOT buy professional hair appliances from unauthorized places like amazom.com, eBay, Target, Walmart, etc. Because if you do, manufacturers will refuse to honor the warranty. Buy from licensed places like salon, licensed professional beauty stores like Folica.com, Ulta.com, West Coast Beauty Supply Inc. etc
I got my Solia a few years back, it worked great for my hair (and my sister's hair too). Last August my sister went to a college in california, she took the Solia with her. Initially I wanted another Solia, but Jonna (my hair stylist) convinced me to get a Sedu. I did. Like Jonna said, Sedu is the best.

Now they have 2008 model (Sedu Revolution) , i can't wait to try it!
Noooo.... u should have gottten a Sedu! they are the flat irons from heaven, seriously.
i've got a wet to straight one. they work fabulously. you can get them from target or walmart. pretty much where ever.
i have the wet to strait one too. it is amazing!

Will I be able to bring my flat iron (hair straightener) and hair dryer on the plane with me in my carry on?

Only respond if you have actually packed your flat iron in your carry on before. Please don't say ';I'm pretty sure you can'; because I don't want to risk losing my $150 flat iron on a guess.

I am traveling with my grandmother and she has this phobia about checking in luggage because she is positive the airline will lose it so I am only able to bring a carry on with me on this trip. We are using Southwest and I have already checked the TSA list of prohibited items so no need to give me that link.

Thank you. Will I be able to bring my flat iron (hair straightener) and hair dryer on the plane with me in my carry on?
Yes, I always bring with me my 3 flat irons in all my trips (2 are ceramic types), domestic and international. No problems whatsoever. Will I be able to bring my flat iron (hair straightener) and hair dryer on the plane with me in my carry on?
Yes you can bring those items on in your carry on. They just dont allow sharp items or big bottles of liquid.
Yup, you can take them on. :)

  • Question for people who use a flat iron/hair straightener?

Ok I use a Chi and after while I can smell my hair and it smells very burnt and stinky after I straighten it.

No I don't over straighten it but ever since I started using a Chi it really has a fried scent to it.

What can I do about this?

Don't say stop using a Chi because I just spend tons on it and it works my hair just has a bad odor after I flat iron it and yes I shampoo and condition.

Should I spray like body spray on it or what!?Question for people who use a flat iron/hair straightener?
I use the Chi too you should use syrum its what your suppose to wear after you just put it on your hair and it smells better and it makes your hair healthy and gives you less of a chance to get split ends.Question for people who use a flat iron/hair straightener?
If your really concered about how it smells then id say yeahh spray some stuff on it.

maybe like a scented hair spray or somethin like that =]
umm i would say maybe get the flat iron spray that they have its supposed to keep your hair healthier and get your hair straighter and shinier...personally i don't use it because i think my hair straightens better without it but it might work for you
I spray a lil bit of perfume on my hair sometimes, Does your straighter have a setting so you can put it on low heat or meduim ?
there are special sprays and creams wich you can buy to protect your hair from iron damage

Your iron is probably too hot and it's killing your hair

If you cant change the temperature on your iron you should get a different one
Did you just buy the chi? If so, it is normal to have an odor and even smoke the first few times you use it. That will eventually stop with use. Also, are you using any heavy products on your hair prior to straightening it? You should shampoo and condition and then blow dry your hair (unless it is a chi wet-to-dry). After it's dry, you should apply a thermal protective spray and flat iron it. Save all other products, including hairspray, until after you are done with the iron, otherwise you could cause that ';fried'; smell.

    Good Luck!
I usually just spray a little hairspray in the palms of my hands and run it through my hair, it makes it smell good and keeps fly aways tamed too. Hope this helps!

    =]
There is Chi Spray that you can get so your hair does not get damaged and also it makes your hair smell nicer.
I use Chi too and I know exactly what you mean. First thing you need to make sure that you have some sort of product in your hair (i.e. mousse, straightening gel). This will help protect your hair from the heat damage. Secondly, most straighteners have some sort of dial to change how hot the thing gets. Make sure that this is not on high. The high setting is for people with extremely coarse, and curly hair. Turn this dial to the middle or set it to medium. That is what I do and it prevents the stinky smell and the frying of the hair. I love Chi and I hope this info helps!

I am looking for a flat iron hair straightener?

My hair is naturally curly and is unmanagable. Lately I've been straightening it and I like the result. I am currently using a Remmington straightener and I like it altough my ends slightly curly after some hours.

Now, I am planning to get one of my own (I'm using my sister's and she has straight hair already) and since I've never been around to shop for a straightener I want some points to look out for (like ceramic plates, temperature control etc.)

What are other points I have to notice and mention brands that I could choose from. (preferably not those really really expensive ones).

Thank you and happy new year. xI am looking for a flat iron hair straightener?
yeah CERAMIC to protect your hair locking in the moisture from a lot of heat damage, temperature should be as low as possible cuz the more heat, the more heat damage to your hair.

chi, ghd, babyliss are 2 very well-known ones.

ghd is really expensive like 200, but very good.

chi is also really good, like less than 100 i believe? :)

so i think you should get chi.

the one i use is babyliss, but i have to rise the temperature to 190 just to get straight hair. =.=I am looking for a flat iron hair straightener?
I have a T3 Tourmaline hair straightener. It's a little pricey, but I love it! It straightens my hair in literally 5 minutes and KEEPS it straight. I'm addicted to it. The Chi is pretty good too, costs around $80. I also had BedHead's hair straightener. It's okay, but it really is the more pricey ones that work the best and last the longest. Look on Sephora.com to browse their straighteners, then go on Amazon.com and Ebay.com to find them at a cheaper price :)
Hi, i have the same problem, you should try chi. watch this video for the results: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4SgWPfANK鈥?/a>
I know you don't want it to be expensive but a CHI flat iron is a really good one. Mines heats up in 5 seconds and does wonders on any hair type.
I have a ZOE (its bright pink :]]) and my sis has a CHI they're both awesome :]
you could look on www.folica.com for a good one

    Best flat iron(hair straightener)??

Mkai, so I've been wanting a flat iron for my hair for a while now and i was wondering what brand is best to buy for a hair straightener...My hair is kinda thick but not really and price isn't a real issue but the cheaper the better..so yeah! What brand do you guys think is the best?Best flat iron(hair straightener)??
A lof of the people say Remington Wet2Straight, and I used it for about 3 years already. It WAS great for first few months till it dried out my hair. It's probably because it isnt the best hair straightener out there, not to mention that it was sold at a regular drug stores. :/

So, I'm planning to switch to a better professional one. And trust me, it is worth buying a good straightener that 'll actually do the job ! :)

Go to : folica.com , it has the top straightener brands.

I heard that the CHI straightener, and the Sedu are the best ones out there. They are quite expensive, but are totally worth it

    Good luckBest flat iron(hair straightener)??
okay the best thing i have found is the maxius, maxiglide hair straightener. My hair is really thick %26amp; i take about 15-20 minutes to straighten it. i would say it's better than chi cause of that %26amp; it has pins so that it kinda makes it slide easier %26amp; smoother. it's not a flat iron it's a straightener. it works with steam so it's really great.. you can buy it at linen %26amp; things for about a little over 70 bucks.

Remington Wet2Straight is also what i use, ive been using it for just over a year, my hair always got frizzy if i didn't dry it first so i wouldn't recommend straightening it while wet, but i have thick hair and it works very very well. and its one of the cheaper ones, don't get a really cheep one because with straighteners, you get what you pay for.
Remington Wet2Straight straightener is the one I use. I also have thick hair. It has worked well for me for over a year, and it is nice not having to damage my hair more by blow-drying it first. And another plus is that it is fairly cheap, though the quality is definitely anything but!
    Remington Wet2Straight, most defintely.

Ive used those thinner flat irons, but I have long thick-ish hair so it didnt work well for me. It kept curling or frizzing.

But with this one it stays straight all day.

Ive been using it for about a year or two.
    Chi!

    they are amazing.
    GHD IT RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!]

    Flat iron/Hair Straightener?

Will a flat iron that has 1 1/2 inch plate size straighten your roots and bangs??? Or do you need a smaller one to do that.

1 1/2 is about the size of this line:

    --------------------Flat iron/Hair Straightener?
a flat iron of any size will straighten your roots/bangs; the differences in sizing will just serve to make the job easier or harder for you. 1 1/2 inches should do the job easily and just fine. It just depends on how quickly you want to get the job done.Flat iron/Hair Straightener?
The flat iron should do the trick, but personally for the rest of my hair I would want a wider plate.
i think a smaller one would work better but the bigger one will probally work just as good.
yes this will totally work doll! That is the size that my stylist uses everyday and they sometimes use an even bigger one when it is in prep. for a movie.
no thats good but it sort of depends on how you want your hair to look anyway thats a good size
It would be best if you got a smaller one than that. That way it can get closer to the roots with not alot of hassel. But the size that you have is okay.
i think a smaller one will work better.. and i bet the smaller type will heat up much faster.. but that should work just as good :)
no they both will work, i have short bangs too, just don't burn your forehead, even if you have curly hair your root won't be spirling so get as close as feels safe
well i think it would be okay but to be safe i would get a 1 inch plate straightner cuz i have bangs too and i have a one inch straightner. i would recomend the CHI though thats what i have
BABYLISS Pro Ceramic Hair Straightener - 1/2 Inch ...check it out at http://www.nextag.com/babyliss-hair-stra鈥?/a>
I think it will straighten both.
i think it would work for your bangs but it will be easier to burn your forhead. i would reccommend using a small curling iron because they can get it small spaces and straighten pretty good.
i'd go with the biggest one!!!

Whats the best flat iron (hair straightener)?

i have semi wavy hair, but the thing is its really really thick. right now i have a bed head one (its pink, idk what kind though) and that sort of straightens it, but its still really poofy and rough as opposed to soft and smooth like i want. iv herd of chi and sedu? which ones better for me (or if you have another suggestion). THANKS!!!

oh, and any product you use that helps it get smooth and silky =DWhats the best flat iron (hair straightener)?
chi and sedu are both good. i think sedus a lil better but more expensive.. i have a solia which works well and i know the jose eber brand does too. if u want a really good one get a ghd but thats really expensive.Whats the best flat iron (hair straightener)?
    I like the chi straighteners.

    They're kind of expensive though.

If you're looking for a cheap straightener, try an andis. It works pretty well for the price.

I also use Paul Mitchell straightening serum to protect it.
Solia is supposed to be better than CHI.

If you go on Beautychoice.com you can find the comparison chart.

    Hope this helps :]

I went to a salon.. and got a haircut.

It looked wonderful when they cut it, and their iron worked like magic.

I have a Conair Infiniti flat iron (50.00), but whenever I iron it, it straightens, and stays in the place I iron it. It doesn't become loose.

Andis brand at Walmart. It's less that $20 and works just as good as the expensive ones and lasts longer.
Most salons use Chi...when I found out thats what they used, I went out and bought one and have had it for 5 years and it still works perfectly. It is pricey ($80-$100) but effective and will save your hair from damage (which essentially saves money from having to keep getting split ends cut off) It is about an inch wide which is the best you'll get for guy's hair. You can go to several websites to get these irons (just google ';chi iron';, or even ask your stylist to order you one and they'll be happy to do so.
yea conair are REALLY bad they arent even professional. my one conair i had for like 4 months and its like and x kinda shape and the one handle just snapped off and it takes like 25 minutes to do a good job too :p. heres a link for a good cheap one sallys is always the best

  • How to use a flat iron hair straightener?

I have wavy hair and it's at different lengths. The hair on the sides and back are shorter than the hair on top and in front. The hair on my sides go right beneath my ear lobes. The hair on the back is up off the neck but is about a few cm's further down from the bottom of the ear lobes. The hair up front falls beneath my eyebrows and into my eyes about 2 cm.

I would like to try straightening my hair to see if I can't look better for formal outings. When I just was h and condition...when it dries it has a tendency to arc and flip out away from my head. My hair also likes to poof when it is completely dry.

I heard from a friend of mine that I need to use mousse; but I do not have any. Is there a substitute that I can use for mousse? or do I need to wait till I have some? How to use a flat iron hair straightener?
A flat iron is a hair strightner ?How to use a flat iron hair straightener?
you dont have to use mousse, you can do it right over clean hair (no product added at all)

i have very very curly hair so what i do is wash my hair the night before, braid it, so it doesn't get notty and straigten with the iron over dry hair, and use a good conditioner bc your hair will be silky smooth, if you use mousse while straigtening it will burn your hair and it will look dull
blow dry it straight and then straighten it... it works fro me..
Do not use mousse, it will dry out your hair, and when you flat iron it, it will burn and make your hair frizzy.

Buy a smoothing serum that you can apply after your shower (while your hair is still wet). Right before you start straightening, apply a heat protector. It will lock the moisture you have into your hair, and your hair will be shinier, and it will stay straight until you decide to wash it.

As far as straightening goes, start at the bottom in the back, and tie the rest up. Take small sections (just enough so that you can hold it with two flat fingers, similar to the way hairdressers hold your hair when cutting it) and slowly drag the straightener down from root to tip.

Depending on the straightener, it may or may not have a comb on the sides of the hot plates, but I suggest holding a comb in front of the straightener as you straighten. It will make straightening faster, and also get rid of any frizz.
no.use a straightner. take small strands of your hair and put it between the two hot plates and press them together and pull down the strand.watch though your hair will be hot,
well, i have curly hair but when i wash it it stays so freaky so i wash it at night so in the morning it'll stay cool. like sometimes i have to go to a special occasion i wash my hair one day before the occasion and when the day comes my hair doesn't get freaky or sometimes i curl it with an hair iron.
Well to help with the poof when it is dry mousse will definitely help. i always put it in wet.. with a little hair spray and just let to hair dry. As for your straightener issue...you can go to to walmart, meijers, kmart kind of place and just get a cheap one. by cheap i mean about $10. its your first one and you dont want to spend a bunch of money. plus the one by connair is a good cheap one. ( with the removal plates.. i used that one for years). your also going to want to get some gloss drops helps put some shine in your hair.

how i straightened my hair. after you wash your hair i use the cheap off brand of paul mitchell its called straight works, but you dont have to. next i blow dry my hair completely ( others do or dont depends on your hair..) then you brush it out really good. then you take small sections and when the flat iron is warmed up you pull it threw the dirrerent sections. if the sections are bigger you may have to pull it threw a few times. when you done you use very little of the gloss drops i mean very little..and i always put it at the ends and a tiny bit threw the rest of my hair to help with fly aways. if you use to much your hair is really greasy! Hope this helps.. and just remember just start playing with your hair..you may come up with an awesome do!..
You might want to try the rotating hair straightener called instyler.

I really need and want a new hair straightener right now I have a Chi bling and I hate it. It does not work at all. So I not sure if I want another Chi. Anyways what are some good ones. I am willing to spend up to 200.00 However I would love to keep it around 150.00. I can spend more if it's 100% worth it.

    1 or 2 inch flat iron/hair straightener?

I'm going the buy a Remington Wet 2 Straight Ceramic Straightener tomorrow because my sister has had one (2 inch) for a couple of years and I use it every time she comes over. It does the job, straightening and drying my hair in one easy step and makes my hair very sleek and shiny.

BUT I don't love how it makes my hair look so flat..with no body or volume, I guess because I've never tried curling or flipping it.

So...my question is...should I go with the 1'; or 2';? I have very long, thick, slightly wavy hair. They say ppl with my hair type should get the 2'; because it saves time but can I curl or flip with it?

    P.S.

Please don't tell me to go buy a $200 straightener, yes I know the price would be worth it in the long run but I'm freaking poor so just answer the question lol

    Thanks!1 or 2 inch flat iron/hair straightener?
go with a 2 inch, and for more volume

try flipping your head over and straightening

your hair. if you go with a one inch for

thick hair it may be hard to straighten it

but since 2 inches are normally also thicker

it will get the job done better and faster.1 or 2 inch flat iron/hair straightener?
I've used both a 1 inch and a 2 inch flat iron. I have very thick, stubborn hair but I definitely preferred the 1 inch, because the size makes it much easier to use. I found the 2 inch clunky and hard to work with, and it really didn't save me very much time. I could pretty easily use the 1 inch for flipping and curling and even for adjusting my bangs.
    2
i like the 1 inch irons better- you can use it to give you more volume, they're usually lighter, and they're easier to work with.

To get the volume, when you straightne your hair at the roots, don't pull it straight down- straighten your hair in a vertical motion, ulling the iron towards the ceiling, then pulling down when you reach the roots- this will get your hair straight at the ends, and volume at the roots.

even though its a wet to straight iron, NEVER straightne your hair when its wet- let your hair air dry first, then straighten it :)

    Good luck!

Which is a better flat iron (hair straightener)?

Which one is the best? %26gt;-%26lt; for maybe 3 times a week and will last a long time without burning hair lol (my hair is coarse and wavy)

This is what i know so far....

-Chi (up to 370 degrees, ceramic, good but burns a lot %26amp; dies...is that true?)

-Sedu (up to 410 degrees, ceramic%26amp;tourmaline)

[does tourmaline really make a difference?]

-Solia (up to 450 degrees, ceramic%26amp;tourmaline, plates that move with hair position, wet to dry)

-Hot Tools (Helix version, up to 430 degrees, ceramic%26amp;tourmaline)

-Zoe (up to 410 degrees, ceramic%26amp;tourmaline, wet to dry, on sale for 30ish dollars)

-Ulta brand (up to 430 degrees, ceramic,tourmaline%26amp;titanium, on sale for 30ish dollars)

if you've tried any please tell me which one is best %26gt;_%26lt; Which is a better flat iron (hair straightener)?
I have read great reviews for the Sedu and Solia. They are rated the most popular on this website: http://www.folica.com/Which is a better flat iron (hair straightener)?
I have bought just about all of those. I have had my CHI for over a year and it's the best. My hair is really curly and dry. No matter what you use your hair will always damage when you put any kind of heat to it. CHI sells sprays to put on before you straighten your hair so it doesn't damage so fast. Also buy the serum and put some on after you straighten your hair and your hair will feel smooth, look shiny and smell good as well.
    wet to dry, definetly.

    lasts forever. (:
im gonna get a sedu, ive heard great reviews on it!

Plus, whats the best brand: Sedu, CHI, Solia, BabyBliss, Other?

GHD is one of the best, not only has it been around for a long time. It heats up really quick and the plates don't harm your hair as much. I'd use a heat protecting spray though because any heat still does harm your hair. I suggest Nexxus Heat Protexx.

I own 15+ (?exact number?) as a stylist and I use two every day.

I use the Paul Mitchell ion straightener. and the silver edition PM iron.

I have chi irons but I leave them in my car because I don't even need them any more.

The results I can achieve with the PM tools are ten times better than the chi brand. I've had a few chi irons crap out on me too (on location at a photo shoot) and I have lost complete respect for the brand.

As a professional I need professional tools!

    Good luck!
    CHI CHI CHI CHI CHI

CHI all the way, I have super thick hair and it gets hot and straightens my hair in like just a few minutes.

It depends on where you live in Canada, but I would suggest just going to your local salon and asking them to order you one, or just go to the mall.

Stores like Trade Secret, and other hair salons/stores that are in malls always have CHIs :)
Definitely a CHI. Never go for the cheap drugstore Straighteners. They completely kill your hair. But no matter what straitener you use also use a heat protectant spray.CHI Iron Guard works really well for that. Both a CHI straitener and heat protectant can be found at ULTA!

I have been doing countless research trying to figure out which flat iron to buy. I am looking at professional and expansive choices..not something i can get at wal-mart:P . I hate Conair don`t get it, LOL! Sorry, I had to get that out of my system, Ha Ha! I have an amazing straightner and the brand name of it is called Metropolis. I`m guessing you can buy this at salons. I bought mine at a salon called Steven`s. It was a hair salon in the middle of the mall where I live. The price was originally $125 and went down to $100. People at least once a day in school compliment me on how soft, shiny, and straight my hair looks. I love this straightner! If you want to get something cheaper I like Wet 2 Straight which is around twenty dollars and available at Wal-Mart. That one works really good too! Hope I helped!
The chi I have thick hair and it works fine on my hair
Chi by far! Get something that heats up to ,like, 600 degrees.

I know, people always say ';it's gunna damage my hair! blah!'; But actually, hair can stand to be in extroidanary temperatures, its just when you keep that crappy little 100 degree straightener on it for 20 minutes is when the heat starts to damage the hair.
    conair
Porcelain! I swear. I had my hair straightener for like, 5 or 6 years and it is still super good. It has 30 heat settings and it heats up super duper fast. I got mine at Sallys for like 30 dollars.

  • Which flat irons (hair straighteners) are 100% ceramic?

I've done a lot of research on different flat iron's but not many websites site whether their product is made with pure ceramic plates. I know for a fact that FHI Runway and PAUL MITCHELL use 100% ceramic plates but I'd really like to know if there are any other brands I should look into. CHI's are only ceramic COATED. I'm not interested in them, I've used it before and it makes the hair around my face get split ends and I do use hair product for heat defense.

If you have any recommendation for a flat iron with variable temperature, 100% ceramic and at least 2 year warranty, please comment!!

Why are you set on using 100% Ceramic?

The Ceramic %26amp; Tourmaline combination is significantly superior.

This may not be directly relevant but here is Folica's ';top 10 flat iron'; page which is based on user feedback, most of them are Ceramic but it's tough to know which ones are 100%

  • What is the best flat iron/hair straightener out there?

I want one that will keep my hair pin straight or at least straight all day. And wont cause my hair to get dry and frizzy when its in humidity. Also, whats a good hair product to keep my hair straight throughout the day? (:What is the best flat iron/hair straightener out there?
I have a CHI flat iron that I LOVE!! I straighten my hair everyday and have had zero problems in the 2 1/2 years I've had it. CHI's are a little bit more expensive, and can run you anywhere from $90-$150, but it is well worth it. Naturally I have slightly wavy hair and it keeps my hair super straight for the whole day. As for a good hair product? I love Tresemme's Hair Straightening Gel. I put it in my hair after I get out of the shower and I think it makes my hair less frizzy, plus it makes my hair SUPER soft. Like silky smooth. I hope this helps, and remember, a CHI is the only way to go!What is the best flat iron/hair straightener out there?
The CHI is very good, but it doesn't hold up to the quality and performance of a Sedu flat iron. CHI's tend to break frequently and they don't have the tourmaline that a Sedu has. If you want pin straight hair that will last, trust me, a Sedu is the way to go.

A really great product is Kiehl's Straightening Cream (which also protects from heat). Just using it will straighten your hair before you even take a flat iron to it. If you look up reviews, the stuff I've recommended tops the charts.
I love the UltraChi Shimmer. It's the advanced version of the original Chi. It leaves your hair pin straight, until you wash it. It also leaves your hair very silky. To avoid frizz, use Garnier's cream that reduces it. For an extra straight look, use a straightening shampoo and conditioner. Also use a straightening cream when your hair is damp. Follow up with your flat iron :) Make sure to use heat protection so that you don't fry your hair.
the chi is amazing its the best ever

it leaves your hair silky shinny and healthy looking

If you have thick, long hair you shouldn't buy a cheap hair straightener. It's not going to starighten well, and it'll damage your hair. I suggest you save your money and wait to buy a good one like a CHI. Sally's is having a sale on them right now.How much do flat iron hair straighteners cost?

Depending on quality, and store, can range from 15.00 to 75.00 , But I advise u to consult with operator. This is very damaging to hair, breakage, split ends, frizzies, may lighten hair, very bad choice,LOL

    Chloche Flat Iron Hair Straightener?

Hi, I was wondering if this hair straightener is good? Anyone have this?

The website is here: http://chloche.com/C007P_Pink.htmlChloche Flat Iron Hair Straightener?
I have never heard of that brand. I am in beauty school so I have tried all the other girls irons. If you are not looking to invest in a chi or something that expensive check out the babyliss. They have tons of them on ebay for around $30. The thing that you are looking for is how hot does it get. You want it to reach around 400 degrees. I know that sounds really hot but the good irons will get atleast that.Chloche Flat Iron Hair Straightener?
I can tell you as a hairdresser, the best out there is the CHI flat iron. I have had loads of clients try others and get irritated that they didnt just invest in the CHI.

there is this hair product that is called Suddenly Straight.

TO use: once out of the shower towel dry your head. after that distribute it evenly throughout the hair. You can either use a straightener or a blow dryer to straighten it. I suggest using the CHI straightening iron when hair is dried. also it was voted best kiss by Cosmo Girl, so that means a lot of people like it and irts really good.

???FLAT IRONS? HAIR STRAIGHTENERS? Do you use these products???

How bad is it to straighten out ur hair with a ceramic flat iron every day??

What's the long term damage that ur doing to ur hair???

Why do most people that flat iron there hair seem to take a shower every other day????

If u flat iron your hair how often do you do it; %26amp; do u take a shower every day when your hair is flat ironed?????

What's the best hair heat protection that u could use when you straighten out you hair with a hair straightener?

~';THANXZ';~ =+)???FLAT IRONS? HAIR STRAIGHTENERS? Do you use these products???
I flat iron my hair everyother day meaning I don't wash my hair everyday OF COURSE PEOPLE WHO STRAIGHTEN THEIR TAKE A SHOWER EVERYDAY EVER HEARD OF A SHOWER CAP I have a pure ceramic straightener but no matter what kind you have straightening everyday will cause damage more than doing it less often. I use Paul Mitchell super skinny serum to protect my hair. And when I don't wash my hair I use a shower cap to keep my hair dry and if a little bit got wet I just blowdry it. I don't know what you mean by long term damage hair grows out and you can trim it.???FLAT IRONS? HAIR STRAIGHTENERS? Do you use these products???
most people who straighten their hair and take showers every other day do so because it is such a painstaking process to use the flat iron, and once they *FINALLY* get their hair straight, it will stay that way as long as they dont take a shower, so they wait an extra day so they dont have to straighten again for one day
A CERAMIC FLAT IRON IS BETTER THEN USING A REGULAR FLAT IRON. HOWEVER YOU STILL SHOULDN'T USE IT EVERYDAY.

I TAKE SHOWERS EVERY DAY AND I FLAT IRON MY HAIR ONCE A WEEK. TO KEEP MY HAIR FROM GETTING MESSED UP I WRAP IT AT NIGHT. BIO SILK PRODUCTS ARE GOOD AND GARNIER SMOOTHING MILK IS GOOD.
When I flat iron my hair, I take a shower every other day, but I wear a shower cap and dont wash my hair for about 3 days
    well first,

Straightening your hair with a ceramic flat iron is good because it traps the moisture in your hair making it silky smooth,

the damage is that you hair will get split ends, but trimming may help.

Showering is good! use a good conditioner to make you hair smoother and silkier when you straighten your hair,

You DON'T have to wash your hair everyday when you flat iron it, if you straightened it really good then you can just loosely put your hair in a pony tail and sleep with it so the next day you can wear it still straight without the damage of flat ironing it everyday.

the best heat protection is Treseme they have a new line of lotions and creams for you hair and also sprays, so if you want to straighten it or curl it they have what you need.

    hope that helped!
A ceramic flat iron is the best for you hair. It keeps moisture in. The long term damage is split ends but getting your hair trimmed regularly will help that. If you are going to do it though, don't straighten it every day, shower AT MOST every other day and make sure you hair is completely dry before you start straightening or else you'll fry your hair.

Good luck, once you start, it's hard to stop.
Flat ironing is damaging. I suggest using a heat protector and getting regular trims because it does cause splits. You can use chi oil, bed head AfterPary which smells wonderful, or Matrix Sleek look flat iron spray. Also you should go as long as you can without shampooing, at least 2 -3 days.

    Flat-iron / hair straightener?

Is a flat-iron the same thing as a hair straightener? I want to straighten my hair but I don't want it to look flat..Flat-iron / hair straightener?
No ironing your hair is temporary. While straightening it with chemicals is permanent until ur hair grows out. If want your hair straight but not permanently then best blow dry it. Ironing will damage your hair and give you split endsFlat-iron / hair straightener?
a flat iron is just that a flat iron u know a thing you plug into the wall and a hair straightener, is a chemical like a perm. If you don't want your hair too look flat them use some volumizing serum in your hair after your done shampooing, conditioning. Then blow dry your hair upwards, then use a heat protection spray for while your flat ironing your hair, and if you do decide to do a hair straightener, then go to a beauty supply store and buy one, then afterwards your hair will be slightly damaged so, what you do is use a deep intense conditioner.
if you do flat iron your hair, first put something on it, like a thermal hydrating spray.
    flat-iron, hair straightener has chemicals.
A flat-iron is the same thing as a hair straightener... it is a tool for your hair... there is hair straightener that is a chemical, but that is not temporary. A flat iron is best used after you shampoo and dry your hair. That way, when you flat iron it, it won't look flat. It will not hurt your hair at all if you use an oil made just for use with flat irons... like CHI oil or Biosilk's silk therapy. You can get either of those products at the beauty store

??????Would u trust to buy a flat iron/hair straightener of ebay?
Check to make sure that the seller has good feedback- it's even better if their positive feedback is from other people who have bought products similar to the one you want. Also, make sure that the product is NEW and comes in the original packaging. Finally, research the brand you are buying on the internet so that you know it's a good brand and not just a cheapie the seller is trying to make a few bucks off of. So long as it all looks good, eBay is a great way to get salon quality utensils at discount prices. I bought a $199 ionic ceramic hair dryer off eBay like 2 months ago for only $50 and I LOVE it!Would u trust to buy a flat iron/hair straightener of ebay?
how much are you willing to spend? Cuz I just got a new straightener for x-mas and it's a Maxi glide.

I love it, and wish i had gotten one a long time ago instead of spending so much money on junk ones that claim to be good.

    just a suggestion.
no. just buy one at Ulta, Tradesecret, etc. at least you can exchange it -locally without hassle. I use the Chi.
if it was brand-new and still in the box, yes, otherwise, i wouldnt. i dont really like sharing hair stuff, who knows what was in the other persons head! lol. but thats just my opinion!
yes if it was sealed and in its original packaging. Oh, and if the seller had 100%-95% satifaction from the buyers.
    basically if it's new YES.

    if not N0.

u minus well just by a new one.

Should I get the SEDU flat iron / hair straightener?

The reviews on Folica have won me over and now I'm asking about your opinions on here. Does the SEDU flat iron leave your hair pin-straight? How long does your hair stay straight for? (the main thing I'm looking in for a flat iron is how long it actually stays straight). How long have you had your SEDU? Any other information about this flat iron would be great, thanks =)Should I get the SEDU flat iron / hair straightener?
I love my Sedu flat iron. I think if you use it on small sections it will work. My hair stay straight for about a day. This iron is really light weight. It has different heat settings so it will not burn your hair like the Chi will. It heats up really fast, and works well too. I usually don;t need my hair to be pin straight, and I do it in in big sections too and it gives me fast results. It is also completely ceramic plate. If you buy it at Ulta, you can find an Ulta coupon and save.

Wanted advice on getting a good flat iron (hair straightener). ?

I already have straight hair, but my ends are a little coarse. I used my sister-in-laws hair straightener one day, and really liked the smooth and shiny look it gave my hair. Can you please let me know which one would work best with my hair, and will not damage it? I'm so confused! I've been reading reviews after reviews, and haven't been able to narrow the choices down. Ozon, Babyliss, Sedu? Thanks!Wanted advice on getting a good flat iron (hair straightener). ?
Definitly go with a sedu. I just ordered one, can't wait for it to get here!! Stay away from the chi, it has really bad reviews. I had the tru ceramic pro for the past 4 yrs and it works great, just getting old, think I dropped it too many times cuz it sometimes won't turn on anymore but I read a lot of good stuff about the sedu so I'm getting one. Make sure u get the 1 inch one, not 1 and a half, that one is too thick and makes it harder to use.Wanted advice on getting a good flat iron (hair straightener). ?
I can't live without my Conair flat iron, my sister in law let me use hers and I went out and bought mine immediately and I highly recommend it to everyone (a couple of friends of mine have done the same after me using it on their hair). I'm not exactly sure of the exact name for it but it is def. by conair the iron part is about a good 1 1/2'; wide and it even has a turbo setting for really hard to tame hair. Then even have a curling iron that converts into a flat iron with the same features. I can't live without mine.

    Best of Luck
well i like CHI personally. it does smooth your hair and give it a shine.

To prevent damage with any straightener you can get heat resistent spray availible anywere from walmart to top of the line bueaty salons.
I used the 1 1/2 in Conair it blows. I had to go over my hair over and over to even get it straight, and my hair's only a little wavy. I use a CHI now and it works so much better. what is your hair type?

    1) how much did you pay for yours or what's the general price range? (USD please)

    2) where can I buy one for a decent price? (In the US)

    3) is it true that it protects your hair from humidity?

    4) is there more then one type of CHI brand iron? If so which one is the best, or what are the diffrences?

    5) If not CHI - what is another brand of flat iron that preforms just as well/better and how much would it cost (USD) and where can I find it?Chi flat irons / hair straighteners?

well to be honest with you a friend of mine had a chi and i bought a 50$ ceramic iron at my local sally's and mine worked better. just make sure whatever iron u buy has a temp control on it. one that can go as high as 400 degrees i truly believe that temp has alot ot do with it. the ceramic just smooths better, they both fry your hair so dont get fooled into thinking that a more expensive iron wont. it will. also look for a smaller iron (slim) about 1 inch wide try to stay away from wide flat irons they are harder to control. good luck!! sally's also sells a generic version of the chi! site below
GHD'S are just as good as chi they use them in nearly every hair salon, chi are good aswell tho, i payed 105 pound for my GHD'S. and you can buy them in any hair salon

GHD or CHI FLAT IRON hair straightener?

Which one do you think is better?

    oh and one more thing,

can you buy the chi flat iron in australia? and where?GHD or CHI FLAT IRON hair straightener?
I think CHI is better and its more afordable although both are quite expensive.GHD or CHI FLAT IRON hair straightener?
    definitely ghd!
    CHI
definetly GHD!!! one of the best ones i've used. and i've used a lot! trust me! CHI doesn't really measure up to what everyone says. i was very dissapointed when i bought it.

but there's an even better one than GHD which is T3 by bespoke labs. this is their website:

    http://www.t3micro.com/store/index.php?m鈥?/a>

    http://www.t3micro.com/irons/

GHD and T3 both work superrrr well. they straighten so quickly and don't damage hair! and the T3 can be used on wet or dry hair. (the one that i have) and both leave my hair soft, smooth, shiny, silky, and super straight! i can leave it in for a full week without having a hair out of place (not that i do because i wash my hair often lol)

and CHI, it took forever to straighten, it burned my hair. the first one i got didn't have a temperature change dial. the second one after i used it for a month it broke. not worth the price.

GHD and T3 are more expensive than CHI but well worth the price.

as for getting a chi in australia, they might have specialty retailers around. or they might sell them in malls or hair salons or hair supply stores. or go online and order it there. i got my T3 from Bed Bath and Beyond. lol it was on sale for $100 and it was a really good model! :]

    hope i helped!!

    good luck!!
Well it really depends on the look you want. I have done a lot of research on this. The ghd is a little bit higher quality and is know to get the hair the straightest out of all flat irons, if that is what you are going for. People use the chi a lot in salons because they are easy to handle all day long and user friendly, but you prob. will not be using it all day long on diff. people anyway. Younger people tend to like the look that they get from the chi more, so it depends on your age, watch people using the chi and see why they like it so much...

if you cannot find the chi and still want it, consider the Fhi Heat professional which is comparable to the chi but has extra features the chi does not and the fhi is cheaper. I have the Fhi Platform for the tourmaline and other benefits

Either way, if you want adj. heat settings, than neither one are the way to go...if you want something that is the easiest to handle in your hand, the chi is best, but I would say get the original chi, those are known to have the best performance
CHI, I have had mine for 3 years and LOVE IT !

GHD burned out after 2 years,

im not sure if you can get it in australia or not, but you could definitely get it shipped there, try a local salon, thats where I got mine

chi is one of the best irons especially for the price you paid for it. Don't forget to use a straightening balm for your hair that is made for heat glide tools. Don't use the one made by chi it tends to make the hair greasy feeling. Althought the one made by Redken smooth down heat glide is one of the best. Good luck I hope this helps.
From the reviews it looks like a good straightener. If your hair is thin..it may not work out as well. Just try straightening in larger pieces. (It's only one heat so if you have thin pieces it could burn and damage your hair) If its thick your probably fine.

I have the same type and yes it did give me results similar to yours! Try using syrums before flat ironing like 'hask zero frizz' or 'frizz remedy'. I always get frizz afterwards but these sort of products make a difference and also try using a styling mouse or gel or maybe hairspray afterwards to get the desired style and perfection! Hope I helped and the frizz could be because your hair is prone to dryness so try some moisturizing treatments if that's the case! Good luck!I bought a babyliss pro 2085 flat iron hair straightener and i used it but didn't give me the expected result
Did you have dry hair when you used it? If wet or even damp it will cause hair to become frizzy and steam. Should use a flat iron on dry hair, and do it section by section, keeping the hair not ironed yet up in a clip(makes it a little easier)

Thank you. What's the best flat iron (hair straightener)?
Definetly a CHI. It cost $129 at and it comes with a one year warrenty. I got mine on sale for $99 at a JC Penny. It is ceramic and is less damaging for your hair. This is what I do, I shampoo and condition my hair. Since I use heat on my hair I use an extra conditioner (I use Aveda Damage Remedy Intensive Restructuring Treatment) and leave it in my hair for 15 mins. and then wash it out. I then apply CHI silk infusion to my hair evenly (just a dime or nickel size amount depending on how long your hair is) and then I blowdry my hair straight. After blowdrying I once again apply ANOTHER dime or nickel sized amount of CHI Silk Infusion to my hair (don't worry cause this stuff is not greasy). Next, I section my hair and begin straightening my hair a few strands at a time. VERY IMPORTANT I always spray my strands with 1.) Motions Heat Seeker Protecting Spray (or Aveda Brilliant Damage Control), 2.) Isoplus Oil Sheen, and 3.) Smooth n Shine Polishing Spray. It sounds like a lot, but just spray all three very lightly to protect your hair from the heat and to keep it conditioned. Especially if you have a relaxer. When you put the CHI in your hair to straighten it, turn it a little at the end like a curling iron and it gives your hair a nice little flip and a natural move to it. When done, your hair will come out really silky like from the salon. Make sure you wrap your hair up every night with a satin scarf and clip your ends every 4 to 6 weeks and grease your scalp. Good luck! What's the best flat iron (hair straightener)?
Chi is the best, I love it, works really fast and has so far lasted a year no probs, I paid 130.00 dollars, you could check ebay too. I bought mine at Regis.

Chi, thats what i have. They are usually pretty expensive, but I got the chi turbo on ebay for like 70 dollars.
I have pretty thick, curly hair and I use Jilberes Tourmaline straightener with the red plates. It is about $70, but you can find it cheaper at Sally's Beauty Supply $45-$60. A lot people love Chi. It can be purchased at Target now for $120. However, it is the Paul Mitchell that you would probably want. It's an amazing straightener. It's expensive about $170, so I only have used it at my hair stylist's, but it is awesome. Definitely better than even Chi, I think.

I will have to agree with everyone on this posting. The Chi is by far the best iron out there right now. There is a newer one (which I believe is red) that doesn't work as well. My friend had it and my hair kept getting stuck in it because of the velvet covering which is like a sticker, and breaking off.

The original Chi (which is black) is the best one because it doesn't break your hair, it heats up fast (at a high temperature) and is QUICK. You can literally straighten and go. The price is about 130-150 bucks, but well worth the money. It even comes with a complimentary one year warranty.

I used to also have the T3 straighterer, but I wasn't as big of a fan. It's definitely a high quality ';starter'; straightener, that runs around $160 dollars (with one year warranty), but not as efficient as the chi. If your hair has a slight wave, I would surely go for this one (because you can adjust the degree heat settings, while with the Chi you cannot), but if it's more on the curly side (like mine), definitely the chi.

    I hope this helped!

  • Is Chi flat iron/hair straightener safe to use every day?

I tried it, and it works a-mazingly-straightened my hair in less than 10 minutes! I was just wondering if it would damage my hair to use it every day...Thanks!!Is Chi flat iron/hair straightener safe to use every day?
make sure when you are using it you keep it moving and not lingering in one placeIs Chi flat iron/hair straightener safe to use every day?
the Chi is a reeeally good straightener. But noo straightener or other heat application is good for you to use on your hair every single day. I haven't all over straightened my hair with a flat iron, besides the sidebangs for almost 2 months now and my hair is so much healthier and shineir! There are so many cute styles you can do with your hair without straightening it every day. If you must straighten it every day, a safer way is to use either Sunsilk straightening cream or Garnier Fructis Brilliante Shine glossing spray. This makes the heat less on your hair and is much safer. Or you can blow dry it which still leaves it fairly straight. Hope I helped!!
any heat damages your hair . but you can buy spray that reduces the damage . you buy it at wal mart .it really works and most likely will make your hair shiny . its a great buy ! hope this works for you .
Yes, it will. Putting heat in your hair everyday is danger no matter what the source.
no heat is good for your hair (it is better to wash your hair in cold water rather than hot) but i have had a chi for a while and it never feels fried or dried out but if there are days when you can avoid straightening it is better
How to Straighten your Hair With a Flat Iron without damage

    ughh yes, it does.

it may not seem like it at ffirst but over a period of time youll notice that your hair will start to break.

any straighter will do this though.
i dont think it would. just make sure the temperature isn't to high, cause then it could start doing some damage

The effects of using a flat iron (hair straightener) everyday..?

I started straightening my hair a while ago, and i found after about 2 weeks of continuous straightening I started to get burnt split ends, so I stopped. But now Im thinking of getting my hair styled so I would have to straighten it EVERYDAY.. what would be the effects on my hair because of this? btw, I have curly hair. The effects of using a flat iron (hair straightener) everyday..?
i straighten my hair everyday too. i got lots of split ends too but just when i didnt take good care of my hair

u have to buy salon products in order to keep your hair healthy if you straighten ur hair everyday

and then u need a deep conditioning per weel

then, it would not make any damage to your hair.

i reccomend redken deep fuel for deep conditioning. It works wonders.

Just make sure you condition your hair after using it as this is a more potent protein products. It makes your hair dry after using it but it really strenghten your, so make sure u conditon ur hair afterwards and it works wonders.

    and yeh

use a heat protector before straightening.

it can decrease the damagesThe effects of using a flat iron (hair straightener) everyday..?
with a strightner you would burn you hair and make it damaged, but if you get a more expensive ceramic straightner you will never burn your hair (because of the ceramic).
It is safe to straighten your hair every day, however it must be done correctly. First off your straightener itself has to be good quality. I would never put metal on my hair, make sure your iron has ';ceramic'; plates. Also, it must have a temperature guage. I know that it may feel like it works faster when its up at the highest temperature, however its more damaging than anything.

Also, your hair should be completly dry before ironing and sprayed with some kind of heat protecter. I use Matrix ';Sleek looks iron spray';.

The best thing to do is to set up an appointment at your local salon to get a trim and have her get rid of your burnt ends. Then ask her to flat iron your hair and ask her lots of questions how to do it correctly and what she reccomends!
    there are product out there

you can find them at drug stores wherever it is you go to

and they have products that you use while straightning your hair to decrease the damage to it
your hair would fry(it would get really dry and you would get burnt split ends) so you should consider getting a japanese straitening. or dont get your hair styled so you would have to straiten your hair every day.
    More fried hair and breakage.
I'm a qualified hairdresser and i don't think you should use your flat iron. it is really bad for your hair. it makes it dryer and causes loads of frazzled end! I suggest you buy some intensive conditioner and leave it on your hair for half hour and keep doing it once every 2 weeks buy heat protection spray from the supermarket and use ceramic straighteners. your hair will have much less damage and should eventually become back to normal. if your burnt ends are really bad i suggest a nice hair cut to get rid of damaged hair. :^)
your hair will continue getting mroe split ends and it will we very fragile. you should probably invest in a ceramic straightener becasue it does a lot less damage. i suggest the chi. also before you straighten your hair put on a protective spray.......i use one from avon called salon straight and it really helpss!! =]

When I send the Solia flat iron hair straightener back how long does it take to get a new one?

I sent mine back and it took 6 to 8 weeks

In your opinion, what is the best flat iron/hair straightener you can buy?

I've heard that CHI is nice but I've never known anyone who has owned one.In your opinion, what is the best flat iron/hair straightener you can buy?

    ceramic
CHI!!! I don't have one but my friend says she can't live without hers.
I have naturally curly hair and I have the Chi to straighten my hair when I want a change. I never was able to straighten my hair very good before the CHI, but now it gets so straight. I spent $100 on it, but well worth it. I have to dry it sorta straight with the dryer, adding a little straightening balm. The I divide my hair into sections and run the CHI over it, sometimes more than one swipe. The CHI is ceramic, and it really makes my hair shiny and soft when I use it, not fried and brittle. I feel the money was well spent.
ya go with chi, just got mine and i love it! if chis broke easily than no salons would buy them. where i live every good hair salon has the chi. The chi is my third hair straightener and by far the best. my first was a revlon i think, and that just sucked, died in 3 months. my second was some 40 dollar straightener from sally beauty supply which still works but takes longer to straighten. My chi though, I can add curl if i want because the ends are curved around unlike other straighteners. its just great.
    definetly CHI.

first of all its ceramic which is very good for your hair

and i love it it works wonders! pin strait hair =]
HOT TOOLS!(the brand) they work great
None use jumbo sized rollers a lot kinder to your hair
    THE HAI!!!!!!!!!!

    HAI

    HAI

    HAI

    it's the best.
My friend has one by Conair I think is like black and ceramic (they sell it at any Walgreens). Well wow I was in shock on how good it works. I had my hair real wavy just the other day and well I grabbed her hair straightner and wow in less then 10 mins all of my hair was straight. With the Chi, it has taken me longer to straighten it plus they break really easy. Either way good luck.

What's the best and safest way to clean a flat iron (hair straightener)?

wipe it with damp cloth. What's the best and safest way to clean a flat iron (hair straightener)?
Use rubbing alochol and a cotton ballWhat's the best and safest way to clean a flat iron (hair straightener)?
This is how we do it in cosmetology school.

    Get a jar of relaxer.

    Get a bath cloth

Heat up iron and take cloth wipe relaxer on hot iron like you are washing it and the **** will fall right off. When all the **** is off turn unplug relaxer let cool of then rinse with Luke Warm to Warm Water. This process should not take more than 10min. /w an extremely dirty iron. Happy New Year
    when it is completely cool,

    unplug it

and use plain water and a soft cloth to clean dirty spots

    off.
theres special stuff u can buy (i think ) but its really expensive. if you can remove the plate wash them with soap and water........... if not wipe it with rubbing achahol and wipe with damp paper towel to get the stuff off it. if u dont have rubbing alchahol try Toner for ur face
make sure its not pluged in then take a damp cloth and clean it. when your done make sure to let it dry.
When the iron is cool I just use a damp rag and clean it. If there's some build up that won't come off with the rag I use my fingernail to scrape it off. Happy New Year.
If it has a buildup of hairspray, jel, or other hair products, try a butter knife and scrape it off, or maybe try nailpolish remover; the acetone might help break up the buildup.
when it's completely cool try to wipe it with a dry towel if that doesn't work use a damp towel and wipe only the silver or gold part and them immediately wipe it with a dry towel until it is dry again
